A non-profit organization operating in Namuwongo Slum, within the capital city of Uganda- Kampala. We provide vital services and give access to proper education, health services, economical empowerment and psycho-social support.
Our Projects
Spoon Youth Group
The group provides young people with a stable and nurturing environment and teaches them ways to deal with the challenges of the life in the slum, such as drug addiction, violence and crime.
Women's Group
The "Umoja", the women's group, improves the lives of women from Namowungo slum by providing them the tools to achieve autonomous economic,and social prosperity.
The Community
Namuwongo is one of the biggest slums in Kampala, with an estimated population of 30,000 people. Though it may be one of the poorest places in the world, it is also the richest one in smiles

Today Little Light directly supports over 300 beneficiaries- children, youths and adults.

Why Volunteer with Little Light?
Our volunteers are project managers who lead Little Light from within. With an innovative approach, they strive to develop the organization’s different aspects. Little light works hand in hand with the local community, and executes a considerable and sustainable volunteer program.
